Cold and rainy in Robertson. Lovely sunshine in Goulburn! A wonderful day was had by all at our last outing at Riversdale in Goulburn - a heritage landmark home to flowering gardens, an elegant 1830s homestead, and art collections.
Located in Gundungurra Country, Riversdale began its life as a coaching inn and later became home to the Twynam family for almost 100 years.
The house still overflows with Emily Twynam’s 19th century botanical sketches and carvings, as well as a collection of fine Australian Colonial furniture.
We were treated to a beautiful morning tea and a very interesting talk by the volunteers. This was
then followed up by a tour of the house and gardens. Hopefully we will be back in the spring/summer for another visit!
