Irrigation
With cooler nights this month reduce the amount of time your irrigation is on and do early
morning watering rather than afternoon to prevent your plants being too wet and cold.
TIP: Growing coriander next to your brassica will reduce white cabbage moth.

In The Orchard
Late apples should be ready to harvest, this includes Granny Smith that can be turned into apple pies or
crumble and frozen for use later in the year. Or just simple stew them and put them into meal sized containers and freeze.

Now is the time to harvest olives, followed by pruning and and fertilising plus a good mulch. While you're at it apply mulch to your berries and check irrigation system and adjust for cooler weather.
TIP: composting Autumn leaves
Work smarter not harder by picking up your autumn leaves with the mower. This cuts the leaves smaller, so they decompose easier and the green lawn that you collect with them will give you a perfect Green/Brown ration for quick and even composting.
